Clarity On The Issues

Religious Liberties

Joe Kaufman For Congress Florida District 23

American tradition has always held that individuals must have the ability to conduct their lives in accordance with their beliefs, as long as it does not violate another individual's inherent rights.

The Framers of the Constitution recognized that people universally have inalienable rights that derive from the Creator.

These rights were grounded in their unique, Judeo-Christian concept of man’s inherent dignity as a creature made in G-d’s image, endowed with reason, free will, and an eternal soul.

They understood that one of government’s primary responsibilities was to preserve these freedoms, especially the right of humans to follow their own conscience.

I will defend the rights of all people, no matter their religious beliefs, in and outside their houses of worship.

And I will work to protect all people and their beliefs, as long as they do not threaten to harm their neighbors, their neighbors' rights, or their neighbors’ property.
